National certification update: September 2020
The Canadian College of Health Information Management provides monthly updates on the status of its four certifications. This could include important deadlines, process changes, information about resources, highlighting successes, and more.

CHIM NCE
The final CHIM NCE for the 2020 calendar year occurs in October. The application closed on September 28, 2020. Please refer to the CHIM NCE application guide to learn about next steps. Best of luck to all candidates who write this examination.
CCCS NCE
The final CCCS NCE for the 2020 calendar year occurs in November. The application is still open and the deadline to apply is November 2, 2020. Candidates must review resources such as the CCCS NCE guide, eligibility & dates, and CCCS NCE application guide.
CCDIS NCE
The final CCDIS NCE for the 2020 calendar year was on August 27, 2020. Congratulations to all new certified clinical documentation improvement specialists.
CTSS
The application to become a certified terminology standards specialist closes on October 15, 2020.
