National certification update: November 2020

The Canadian College of Health Information Management provides monthly updates on the status of its four certifications. This could include important deadlines, process changes, information about resources, highlighting successes, and more.

Here are the updates as of November 30, 2020:

National certification 2021 dates are now available.

CHIM NCE

Congratulations to the new certified health information management professionals of 2020.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 national certification examination sittings.

CCCS NCE

The final CCCS NCE for the 2020 calendar year was held November 16 – 20, 2020. Congratulations to the new certified classification and coding specialists of 2020.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 national certification examination sittings.

CCDIS NCE

Congratulations to the new certified clinical documentation improvement specialists of 2020.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 national certification examination sittings.

CTSS

Congratulations to the new certified terminology standards specialists of 2020.

For those interested in this certification, information regarding eligibility, fees, and important dates, can be found on the CTSS information page.

For those who have become certified from August – November 2020, official certificates will be mailed out in December. The reason for the delay is that the College would like to send out its latest design reflecting its new identity that was announced on September 24, 2020. Read more here
