2023 CHIM NCE sittings: Application and examination dates
The Canadian College of Health Information Management (College) is pleased to announce the application and exam dates for the Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM) national certification examination (NCE) in 2023.
Certified professionals in health information are overseen by the College and adhere to a professional code of ethics. Self-regulated by peers and the College, certified professionals are held to a higher standard of practice and continuing education requirements.
The CHIM NCE is designed for the following:
- Graduates from a College-accredited health information management (HIM) program
- Graduates from a College-accredited Health Information Fundamentals program with an existing, recognized degree
- Eligible professionals under reciprocal agreements
Candidates who successfully write the CHIM NCE earn a CHIM™ professional designation.
To register for the CHIM NCE, candidates must apply through their CHIMA account and provide payment. Payment must be received on or before the application deadline.
Following application, candidates will be sent further information to access the NCE primer, practice exam, and NCE guide.
The application deadline for the January CHIM NCE is January 9, 2023.
