Announcing the accreditation of Algonquin College – School of Business and Hospitality’s Office Administration – Health Services program.

The Canadian College of Health Information Management (College) would like to announce the successful accreditation of Algonquin College – School of Business and Hospitality’s Office Administration – Health Services program.

The two-year Office Administration – Health Services Ontario College Diploma program is designed to prepare a student for a fulfilling career in diverse health services office settings. This specialized curriculum is geared toward ensuring a graduate excels in the dynamic field of health services, making a substantial impact on patient care and operational success.

A graduate is provided core training in health services, including theoretical frameworks, practice skills in areas such as Electronic Medical Records, billing, privacy and the development of interpersonal skills through sensitivity training. Focused areas of study include patient services management, medical billing and transcription proficiency, and comprehensive medical knowledge.

This program is a person’s gateway to becoming a pivotal part of a health care team, ensuring smooth operations and enhancing patient care delivery.

Algonquin graduates of the program are eligible to write the Health Information-Certified Associate (HICA) national certification exam (NCE). Certification recognises health data as a key factor in providing safe and quality care to people across the country.
